His Grace, Bernard N. Bragg is the senior pastor of New Life Restoration Temple in Boston, Massachusetts.  He is a graduate of Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland where he received both his Bachelor of Science degree and Master’s degree in special education.  He was united in holy matrimony to the former Beverly A. Williams on June 30, 1984.  Before his early retirement in October 2000, he worked in the Baltimore City Public School System as a teacher, department head, and administrator.

His spiritual metamorphosis began on December 23, 1973, at which time he began his years of spiritual training and growth.  This was accomplished under the guidance of his pastor, spiritual father, and mentor–Apostle Robert Evans, Jr.  Bishop Bragg has held numerous positions, faithfully serving the Beth-El Temple Church of Christ and later, the Beth-El Churches of Christ, Inc. where Apostle Robert Evans, Jr. was Establishmentarian.

Bishop Bragg was ordained in ministry on October 18, 1986. He served as the General Secretary and a member of the Executive Board for the Beth-El Churches of Christ from her inception in 1989.  In October 1999, he was consecrated and ordained to the office of Bishop in Fayetteville, North Carolina, during the 11th Holy Convocation of the Beth-El Churches, and assigned as diocesan of the 7th Episcopal diocese.  In October 2001, following the passing of the Establishmentarian and First Apostle, Bishop Bragg was elected the new Presiding Prelate of the Beth-El Churches of Christ, Inc.

In addition to his duties in the Beth-El Churches, he has served on the board of trustees of the Umoja House - a home for troubled youth. Presently, he serves on the board of directors for Healing Our Land Ministries - a ministry designed to facilitate the needs of HIV and AIDS victims and their families. He serves as spiritual covering for On Broken Pieces - a ministry birthed to touch the lives of hurting women and is also the CEO of the New Life Community Development Corporation.

Bishop Bragg is an anointed preacher and revivalist, and is most noted for his profound teaching ability.  His mission is to edify, educate, evangelize and economically empower the community of believers through kingdom principles.  He is an honorable man dedicated to leading God’s people, God’s way. He is motivated by seeing the people of God grow in Him, prosper and dwell in the spirit of unity.
